HSV-2 Swift Celebrates Navy’s 230^th  Birthday.

While transiting the Atlantic Ocean HSV-2 Swift celebrated the United States Navy’s 230^th Birthday.  In the theme of the Secretary of the Navy’s birthday message, HSV-2 Swift has been on the cutting edge of Naval operations, particularly Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Assistance.  Last January HSV-2 Swift provided logistics support for Tsunami relief efforts in the Gulf of Thailand and just last month was shuttling critical supplies up the Mississippi River to Naval Units supporting relief operations in New Orleans.

Pictured are the oldest and youngest members of the Swift crew, ENCS Gardner and ENFN Royalty.  In keeping with Swift’s modern high speed, low drag motif, they are cutting the ship’s Birthday Cookie.
