In organizing this site I found there were some neglected items that were worth calling attention to.
These are various debates that took place here. Some are more interesting than others, but people who like this site may like these.
I'm listing them more or less in order of their interest (to me) but none of them are dull. The End of History: communism, fascism, and liberal democracy; and the future. SMP and the Future of Computing (June 1999) was an internal Chaos Manor network debate among myself, Darnell Gadberry, Alex Pournelle, and Eric Pobirs.
The Second Computer Revolution was an essay I wrote in response to a letter. It's pretty good. Or so I think...
Operating System Debates Part One was about Wintel, Apple, and others... Topical Blatherings is a silly name for a February 1999 discussion of the Microsoft Lawsuit and other matters. The Davidson Letter is a long an interesting letter on NT vs. Linux The Halloween Papers continues Microsoft vs. Linux, with some internal Microsoft commentary. The Meta-Journal is a 1998 discussion of how my Journal -- which became VIEW -- should work, and again contains many side discussions. I thought it worth putting on its own page, and it was. Microsoft and Monopoly was a lively discussion worth keeping. And Windows 98 was a series of observations and debates on installing and using Windows 98 Part One when it first came out. It's still interesting but a bit dated. Norman Spinrad did an article about SDI and NASA and the Space Council I chair. I've put that material here.
