Medical Update

Alex Pournelle reports today on Dr. Pournelle’s current health status:

As of this morning, Dad is improving still. More motor skills, more speech improvement (at least to me). He is also annoyed at his inability to express himself by typing, though I suspect he will be back to banging away pretty quick, at least with 2 fingers.

Tomorrow starts the long term intensive physical therapy and then home adaptation. Will update as that happens.

Thanks again for all the good wishes.

  7. Michael Tyzuk says:

    Dr. Pournelle:

I am gratified to hear of your continuing improvement and recovery after your recent stroke.

You have a singularly sane and rational mind in a world where many of your fellow journalists and commentators are either victims of their ideology or governed entirely by their passions. Your example continues to remind me every day that while my gut feelings on an issue are certainly important, it is equally important for me to inform myself before I take to time to draw conclusions about what is happening in the world around me. You have encouraged me to be more rational and less emotional in my thinking, and for that I thank you, sir.

My very best wishes on your continued recovery. The world would be a much darker place without you.

    Very best regards,
    Michael J A Tyzuk
